Neighbourhood plans should also take account of the content of strategic plans. If you are preparing a neighbourhood plan, these usually have the most influence when they identify sites for development and include planning policies to help determine planning applications. They will sit beneath and within the broader strategic plans and local plans, with the most influence available to those that are used positively and proactively to allocate sites for new homes and employment, and/or create development briefs or design codes, rather than general policies that risk repeating the other plans.
