How do I ask the Local Planning Authority to provide more sites?

Many people are unable to afford to buy their own land and will be reliant on renting a pitch. The government recognises this in the national planning policy for Traveller sites, which aims (amongst other matters):

“to promote more private traveller site provision while recognising that there will always be those travellers who cannot provide their own sites”

There are two ways of trying to get a Local Planning Authority (LPA) to provide sites.  The first is to respond to Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessments. The second is to take part in the Local Plan process.
